Converting Access file to Run-time application

This may seem quite a basic question however, how do I convert a access database into a runtime application.
 
You don't.

You need to purchase the Developer Edition which will allow you to distribute your db as a runtime db.

That said, if you are using 97 then buying a copy of ACCESS 97 Developer Ed. will be tricky as Microsoft no longer sell it - at least not in the UK.

Bill is right, today is Jan. 8 2001, so its been 3-4 years since Access '97 was released.
Access 2 Grand is approaching a year.
Finding anything to support Access '97 is going to harder and harder. Also Microsoft "USUALLY" make things easier to do in newer releases.

So Upgrade to 2 Grand Developer Edition its roughly $550 US
