convert time to a number

How is it possible to convert a time field to a number. The field is hh:mm:ss ie 00:02:30. I need this to be represented as 2.50.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hour(TheTime) + (Minute(TheTime)/60)

 

[SkipVought]

Or even
[tt]
[TheTime] * 24
[/tt]
since Date/Time UNITS are days.
