I have an old FoxPro app (1998?) and do not know what version it is. I do not have FoxPro and need to get the tables into Access2000. Access seems to bring them in fine except for the *.dbf tables with memos (*.ftp files?) Is there some shareware out there that can help me get everything into Access? Thanks for your help (again).

How are you accessing these files? If you use VFP OBDC, rather than the dBase ODBC driver or the built-in JET access to .DBF files, you should have no problems linking to the tables. From there you should be able do what you want with the data.

Access is by import into Access2000 by setting the file selector to dbaseIII (cheating, but it does OK). I do not need to do anything with the old foxbase(pro) databases, just get the data out.

But that's what I'm saying - the dBaseIII method (via JET) just doesn't handle the FoxPro memo file (.FPT) correctly.

You'll need to attach (link) to the FP table(s) using the VFP ODBC client, and then copy the data into an MDB.

Note: No OS came with the VFP ODBC drivers installed. The current (latest and last?) ODBC driver is version - 6.1.8629.1. It was for VFP 6.0 and came in MDAC 2.6. You can get it at this link - (Yes this is the right one for FPD/W 2.x tables also.)
