I've seen postings on how to convert a word .doc file into a .tif file, is there a way to take a .tif and make it viewable in Word? Somebody has received a fax in .tif format and needs to save the file as a Word doc. I've tried renaming the file and opening with Word, but no matter what I select (open as Rich Text Format, etc.) it does not translate. Any ideas?

You can insert it as a picture. Create new word doc, go to Insert, go to Picture, From File, select your tiff. Since it's a picture, you will not be able to edit it. In order to edit it, you would need OCR software to convert it to text doc.

Hi,

A .tif is a graphic format.

You can INSERT the pic in a document.

You could use an OCR application to "convert" portions of the image to text characters if there are any.
