I need to convert a powerdesigner data model to VISIO. Can anybody tell me how to do it.

Hello.

You would have to do a manual convert. In PowerDesigner 10 you will be able to import Visio diagrams into PowerDesigner as a free model.

Jay,

Thanks for the response. Jay, is there any way we can use mata data of the s-designer and conver it to VISIO data model. I hope there are some tools on the net. One tool I have seen is Model Bridge.

I am actually convering PDM from Powerdesigner 6.1 to VISIO. The best way I could find till now is VISIO reversing engineering. Do you think there is any other way of doing it better.

MetaIntegration can do it, from the newer versions at least. But you will pay for the privelidge $5K. Visio does not have strict models, that is they can be anything , weakly typed I guess. So the question is what sort of Visio models they would create.

To convert PowerDesigner models manually would take quite a lot of work. Especially as the 6 models were not XML. If you have a lot of metadata it might be worth paying for the conversion.

Easier to upgrade to PD 9.5 ;)
