Controlling System Services via AD

I want to stop the "computer browser" service on all my XP workstations in a Win 2003 AD domain. Obviously I want my DCs to continue running the service. How do I do it?

There are a couple of ways of doing this. First you could configure a GPO at the domain level that disables the computer browser server and then block that policy from applying at the domain controller level.

Or you could create a new OU and put all the workstations in it, and just apply the GPO to that OU.

It should work for both windows xp and 2000. Also, as long as you have all the computer accounts in the OU it will work on all of them.
