I just inherited an NT 4.0 network and need to download some file from the internet. The network does not allow downloading of files from the internet or accessing web based email. How can I disable this security temporarily or how can I give myself permission to work around it?

Need more information to help with this. Depends on how your network is set up, the set up of your PC, the set up of your internet link and the set up of your firewall.

This is DEFINITELY a router or firewall problem.

The only way it would be directly related to your NTS40 box is if you're running something like Microsoft Proxy Server.

All the best,

Joshua Feinberg
