I'm new to Arcserve, so I'm not sure this is possible...

We are using Arserve 11 for Windows to back up image files. The files are located on 3 different servers. We've set up a backup rotation consisting of a full backup on Saturday and differential backups Tuesday morning through Friday morning.

We would like to purge the image files after every full backup. I've noticed in the Options menu that there is a "Delete Files After Backup" option, but I assume this deletes after every successful backup, not just a full backup.

Does anyone know how we can automate this within Arcserve? (Even something like calling a script/batch only after the full backup would be workable...)

The 'delete files after backup' option in the job is also a stand alone utility in the ARCserve GUI.
Go to utilities - purge
schedule the purge job to run once a week on these specific image files.

hope I'm clear

regards

Very clear, Cyklops. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I've just glanced at it, but it looks like I'll have to schedule for the purge to start well after the backup is run (at this point, I don't know how long the full backup will take).

That's just legwork on my part, though. Thanks for the help!
