Control codes sent to printer

Anyone know of a way to capture all code sent to a printer and output to a text file?
 
Mmm... Print to Text File, through the drivers....

I wonder if redir lpt1: >> text.file would work...... I don't know if XP even still *has* a redir command... lol

Google search for "print to file". Several pop up.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.
 
I would use WireShark (Ethereal) to capture the stream actually going to the printer. That way you get the exact PS/PCL codes that printer responds to.
