I have a document with several tables, each spanning multiple pages. Is there a way to caption so that the caption number is repeated at the top of each successive page? Such as, Table 2 (continued), on the following pages from where the table originated with the full caption.

I know of ways to hardwire the caption, but this is not preferred in case the document is modified at a later date.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not without breaking the table OR changing the header in some way.

I'm not sure why people worry too much about this tho. I've done manuals for all types of HUGE companies, and we all know this limitation and live with it.
