Continual Index errors

Hey folks,

Got one XP Media edition PC (SP2) that will experience a dramatic slow down in speed. Ran 2 virus checks, 2 spyware checks that found nothing more than suspicious cookies.

Ran a ChkDsk which found several Index errors that it corrects and the PC resumes normal Speed (Dell XPS 400, Dual Core, 2gigs ram, SATA)

A week goes by and the PC is back to slow speed - another chkdsk and more Index errors.

Anyone run across this before and have any suggestions for me?

Your hard drive manufacturer will have free diagnostic software to thoroughly check out the condition of your hard drive.

I did notice one comment that mentions virus scanner Kapersky causing Index errors.
