consolidating data in excel

I am trying to consolidate data. I have a list of 13,448 part numbers in col A, which can be consolidated into appx 4000 exact matches, with quantities from diff consumers in cols B, C and D. I go to data/consolidate and enter the range of A213449 but all it does is copy the entire range. What am I doing wrong? I have the sum function on the consolidate dialog box selected. I have used consolidate successfully before, but can't get it to work in this application.

Hi,

Consolidate means something else -- brings data together from different sources

You want to use the Advanced Filter and select UNIQUE values - no criteria - copy to another location if required.
