Is there a way to add a coverage path to a console attendant? We have a night mailbox using time of day routing but if the oporator steps away during the day, the phone just rings and rings.
Console type (eg dial 0 if zero is defined as attd)calls will go to the night destination in the LDN form. She can then just press the night key to route it elsewhere when she walks away. Presumably your incoming trunk calls are intercepted before they reach the console after hours by your time of day. One thing to keep in mind that a call to the night destination in the LDN form will not follow the coverage point of that destination.
You can also build a dummy hunt group, re-define zero as an extension & make it the access code for the hunt group. You then have to define some other 2 digit local as "attd". This can be a bit involved as it requres temporarily changing all references to attd in the PBX while you re-define it. You can then put a hunt-ns key on the console and the day destination would point to a coverage path whose first point of coverage is attd. If you want incoming trunk calls to follow the same route you have to chnage their incoming destination from attd to zero. The night destination would be where you want the call to go when the hunt-ns key is pressed. Only problem with this is that dial zero calls will hear coverage tone before ringing thru to the Console, although incoming trunk calls will not. You can eliminate that system wide in the system parameters coverage form by setting Coverage Caller response interval to zero.
