Hi Everyone

I am having a real problem configuring my IIS web server so that people on the internet can access my ASP pages.
I have a default.asp page sat in a directory on my web server (on my own computer) which people cannot access. They put in my specific IP address e.g and the response their browser return is a "HTTP 403 Forbidden access error"

The IIS server i have installed use to work fine for asp pages before I installed Visual Studio.NET beta 2. I have now uninstalled this and everyone who trys to access absolutely ANYTHING on the web server gets the "HTTP 403 FORBIDDEN" error. I am so frustrated by this and cannot think what to do now. Is there any way I can reset the IIS server back to how it was??? or can anyone think why I am getting a total block on my webserver??

Any help on this matter would be really appreciated!!!

Fingers Crossed

Hello!

Why don't you set the home directory to my files and in documents set the defualt document as default.asp it will resolve your problem.

I hope this will help iis_guru@yahoo.com

It didn't work unfortunately........any other idea's?

then must be IMPROPER INSTALLATIONS re-install your IIS. iis_guru@yahoo.com

Tryed that too............no joy.......something fundamental is blocking access to my webser files???

Important to remove any antivirus or Zonealarm if you are using any before you install IIS actually some antiviruses and firewalls kicks asp.dll to registre properly, after installation again applay security settings i.e antivirus/firewalls.

I have an XP built in firewall that's it..........but that is switched off........should I uninstall IIS then re-install it with the firewall switched off?
