I have setup a home network and have my server setup as the connection to the Net via dialup (yes its slow and it sux but that's all I have). My server is Windows XP Pro SP2. It is also the DHCP server. I can see this machine across the network so I know the network is ok. I also have it setup to auto dial when someone attempts to connect the network if no connected. First, the auto dial does not work. If i open a browser on another machine and surf to it just sits there until it times out. Also, once I manually make the connection to the net at the server, clients can only surf to sites the server has surfed to. For example:
Step 1: surf to from client machine. Client never opens the web page.
Step 2: surf to from server machine. Server opens web site.
Step 3: surf to from client machine again. Client machine opens site only after server has visited the site.
I get the same results if I’m just pinging sites.
Also, MS Messenger works fine from client and VNC Viewer works too (without opening them from server).
