I migrated from WFS to Fireware Pro on my X700. Went through the Migration Guide and installed without error, until I tried to connect to the firebox. I can ping it, but cannot connect to it. I used the same IP as it was before the upgrade. I re-ran the wizard and set it up again and then the last message is, Cannot Communicate with the Firebox. What can be my issue? I tried using the IP and what I named it.

After rebooting I cannot ping the firebox. I tried to configure it manually from the front panel, but after choosing SAVE, it does not save. I guess it's in an "Unknown State"

I hooked my laptop up directly to Interface 1 and it seems DHCP is enabled and giving me a 10.0.1.100 IP and 10.0.1.1 Gateway. I can ping the gateway, but still cannot connect to the firebox using 10.0.1.1 What else is there to try, oh this is after running the wizard on my laptop and it failing too. Unknown state thing.

Thanks,
Marc

After much playing around it finally worked (don't know how, but it did) Can anyone tell me what is filled in for Search Base, under Authentication Server when choosing AD?
