connection problem

hi, i have a vb 6.0 application, and im using a SQL7.0 databse with an ODBC driver.
every time i connect to the database, the program generates me a file in c:\ with extension .tmp and 0 size. and strange names like in Hexadecimal
does anybody know how can i avoid it??
