There are two domains, Los Angeles and New York.
- Los Angeles domain is running a Windows 2000 server.
- New York domain is running a Windows NT server.
-the client workstations are running windows 98.
-the two domains are connected through a vpn.

i am trying to connect the New York domain to the Los Angeles domain. The vpn connection is fine. i'm able to connect the two domains from server to server. It asks for the password and login is a success. The problem occurs when i'm trying to login as a workstation(new york) to the server(l.a.).
-Is it a security issue, or some other settings i need to configure on the client?

Have you tried logging in as an admin and see what happens? Glen A. Johnson

i'll get in touch with that site and try it. so do you think it has something to do with rights and permissions...or possibly some configuration with the active directory which i'm not very familiar with?

Try putting an LMHOST entry on one PC and seeing if it can get access to the domain, the LMHOST Will tell the system where to find the Domain controler for the domain it is looking for.

Assuming that all of your path information is correct (and you can ping the PDC (or PDC emulator as the case may be) then you should be able to use an LMHost file and get logged into the other domain CJ

Oh ya.. if you are using a shared VPN connection then you need to make sure that you have the correct path information (you can do that per PC or at your gateway) then your PCs should be able to talk to the PDC of the other domain. CJ
