Connecting remotely for maintenence 1

I need advice on connecting to a remote machine across the country to assist in troubleshooting and maintenence of a single desktop machine.

Machine 1 (host) WIN XP Home , broadband
Machine 2 (remote) WIN Me , dial-up

go to and download the FREE server / viewer software, the only problem is the dial up, it will be suppppppppppper slow. with broadband it works great.
