Hello All,

I have been blessed with the task of planning an exchange migration from lotus notes. Our parent company is on exchange but the high brass here does not want to become a site under an existing org, but rather become a seperate org even though we are under the parent company in terms of business/admin model. All of my training says if your orgs don't match then sharing public folders and more importantly directory replication can't happen, or at least is more difficult to implement.

Could you please advise me of some other dangers to trying to setup inter-organization connectivity? I would also apreciate reasons why its better to become a site under an existing org.

BTW we already connect to this parents exchange server for internet mailing and address book via notes connector?

Thanx,

Larry

You are quite correct in that the servers need to be in the same Organisation to set up folder replication etc using exchange native tools there may of course be third party agents to do this I don't know of any personally but you can check at slipstick ( ) for more info. You may find links on there why it is not a good idea.
there is also Simpler Webb
You may need to explain to your brass that an Exchange Organisation is merely an administrative function rather than a political coffin nail.
