Hello all,

I'm trying to connect to a Progress DB through ODBC within VS2005. It connects ok, displays the tables with schema, but when I want to view the data I get "Access denied (7512)" error.

The ODBC driver is "DataDirect 4.20 32-BIT OpenEdge SQL v10.08" - I know there are other connections, but this firm aren't willing to shell out any more money!

I've checked the permissions I'm using in the database, and I've got all the permissions I need.

Anyone have an idea what's wrong?

Thanks,

Adrian Johnson

I will do - just thought it might be quicker to see if anyone here had any experience/tips for me.

Sounds like a db logon issue, are you sure the db user you're passing to the connection has the right permissions?

I'm sure as I'm logging on using the account with absolute authority.

I'll get someone to check anyways.

Checked permissions and they're fine. I should be able to get into everything.

I can't think of what else it can be, though.

Sorted - there are different users with different permission sets. Blooming confusing system (glad it wasn't my decision to buy it!).

Thanks for the suggestions,

Adrian
