I'm quite new to database programming, specially with Borland DELPHI. I tried searching for keywords that would give the exact result I wanted, to no avail.

I have an EXCEL file (published within our network), and it's where we'll be taking off values for certain parameter.

How am I going to use ODBC to at least create a database alias so I can pass on SQL string that would give the selected query result I need? Is it possible via ODBC, and if so, how?

THanks a lot, I'm looking forward to your replies...
