We moved a customer from a Merlin Legend to IP Office 406V2 R3.2 v54. PageLynx RJ11 port was connected to an anlog station port (012 w/ ring gen)on the Merlin and client dialed 4 digit station port to connect.

On the IP Office, the call is a ring-no-answer. We have tried Caller Display type as 'none' and 'DTMFB'. No change. The Commtech manual is not very specific as to required voltages, etc.

It DOES answer when reconnected to the Merlin or when fed to a LS CO line.

Any thoughts on this?

on the Merlin was is programed as a page port? if it was then the system goes offhook on it. You can change the port type under extensions in manager and make it a speaker and that may work.

I may try that. I was also considering changing the Caller Display to DTMFF (like a fax). On the latter, I was considering this as that is what I had to set their analog fax extensions to for DID faxing to work off the T-1.

MORE ON THE PAGELYNX: This is a nurse-call system that prompts you to enter the nurse's pager number when it answers. Their documentation talks about connecting the 'PBX' port on the PageLynx unit to a dedicated analog PBX station.

We wound having to install a Viking ring booster. Works like a champ, for now.
