My company just merged with a compnay using Cisco Call Manager version 4.2. We have an IP Office 406 version 4.0.14. We would like to set up four digit dialing between the sites. Any advise would be helpful.
there are some internal Avaya documents that show how this can work. I've been using it internally here at my company for years. From our Cisco CM to IP Office 412 Conference Centre. I've also got it form a LAB 403 to the same Cisco and we can dial 4 digits back and forth.
1) Go to LINES - right click - add NEW - IP Line - give it a unique number
2) Input IP ADDRESS of CALL MANAGER (make sure of course you can ping the Call Manager from any PC on the IP Office network)
3) Select H450 from the drop down - also select your codec (G.729a)
4) Go to SHORTCODES - and create a system shortcode for dialing the extension range of the Call Manager extensions to traverse the IP LINE to the Call Manager
5) Go to IP ROUTES - and create a route to the Call Manager network
In the Call Manager - you will have to do similar - create a trunk - adjust your Search Space, etc...
Make sure you select similar codecs on both sides (try G.729a)
DO you know the programming for the Cisco in CLI. I have the IPO calling the CallManager, I can pick the call up and talk from the CallManager to the IPO. No voie path from the IPO to CM; even though the IPO initiated the call. I have programmed nothing in the CM because the GUI I am using is useless.
