connect a v210 to a 220R 1

Hi, I have a new V210 and I need to get to its console. I tried to get the tip command by running a cable from my serial A (label A) on 220 into the 1010101 serial port of 210. I run the command like: tip -9600 /dev/term/a , shows me connect but nothing comes after that. I did check the /etc/remote and the entry for hardwire is there, the same happens when I do tip hardwire.
can somebody please help on this ?

One more question, the cable that is needed: is it one of those db25 - db9 ?

You will need a null modem adapter between the 2 computers.
