Confused about 'Host Name'

I'm trying to setup my dns server, but I'm having trouble understanding what the 'Host Name' is supposed to be.

1: Is it the servers name?
2: Is it the name I'm using for NS1. NS2. (in my case alliancegameservers.com)
3: Should I just put in the IP?

I've googled and looked around but just not sure what is valid.

Forgot to add this to 1:, if it's the servers name, should I change it to a valid domain name, with the .com and everything. (If you couldn't tell, this is the first time I've setup a web servers and dns).
