I have a VB6.0 application here that uses a DirListBox and a DriveListBox as controls. Firstly, are these ActiveX controls? Secondly, why can't I use them in my Access97 application. I have tried registering them again but I can't seem to bring them up in the list of controls that I can use.

Can anyone out there help?

FWIW, the DirListBox and DriveListBox are native VB controls, not ActiveX controls. That's why you cant find them in your control list in Access.

You could build an ActiveX OCX consisting of the controls you mentioned and then use that ActiveX in your Access database, if you have VB's Control Creation Edition. Or you can search the web and purchase an ActiveX control that has the functionality you desire. You might be able to find a freeware or shareware version.

If you decide to build one, this article may be use:
