Just curious if anyone else increases the size and number of the buffer in your drive configurations? After attending a Veritas seminar the instructor said we should never go with the default - the drive can't get the data as fast as it can handle and the compression suffers.

I jack mine up to 512k size buffer and 25 buffers and my throughput during the job jumps tremendously - usually better than 600mbs a minute. It takes a job of at least 4 gigs to usually notice the difference.
