Hi everyone.

I have a question about smtp connectors and routing groups. I have two locations each with their own Internet access. We will call the two administrative and routing groups NY and LA. I currently have an smtp connector to the Internet for NY. I would like to setup a second smtp connector for the LA routing group. I would like to limit this connection to only accept outbound mail from the LA routing group and reconfigure my existing connector to only accept mail from my NY routing group. I am not sure how or if this can be done. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you...Kevin

On the smtp connector, make sure the scope is set to the routing group and not the organization.

I just found that option yesterday. But in order to use it I think I have to change the scope on my existing smtp connector in NY from organization to routing group. I am going to try to make that change today and I will let you know if how it works out.

Thank you.
Kevin

That's correct. To ensure uninterrupted mailflow, stand up the LA group smtp connector first, then change the scope on the NY smtp connector.

That did it. I created a new smtp connector in the LA routing group and set the scope to the routing group and everything worked like a champ!

Thanks for your help.
Kevin
