Configuring SIP Trunk with S8300C and G450

Hi,

If anyone can assist with some information or point me in the right direction thanks.

I currently have an S8300C Media Server with G450 Media Gateway on CM5.0.

I would like to be able to configure and connect to a SIP service provider to reduce the cost of outgoing calls. The provider I am intendng to use is MyNetFone.

Do I need to purchase any other equipment?
Do I need to purchase any licences?
Are there any limitations?
What sort of information do I need to get from the service provider?
How do I configure it to work?

We've already tried this with different SIP providers, you are probably gong to need a "Session Border Controller", because it probably won't work without it (NAT issues)

We like to use netgear products, which product do you suggest that will work as a session border controller?

Also how is it configured to work with the Avaya system and SIP provider?

peggy, we have not been able to get service provider SIP trunks working yet, Session Border Controlers can be anywhere from a software only solution running on your own server, to tens of thousand of dollars. The largest and most respected player in SBC's is "ACME Packet"

Almost every SIP provider we have tried is either not getting all of the required information, or the IP address's are messed up because of firewall issues, etc.

even though the S8300 with CM5 comes with an SES (SIP) service, it is not enough to get SIP Trunks working with external providers, is what we have found so far.
