hi all ,

I've IIS 6.0 running on win xp professional. I've created a virtual directory on the default web site but it doesn't allow me to configure server extensions in the virtual directory.

In fact , it doesn't have the menu item "configure server extensions when i right click on the virtual directory and point to "All Tasks" .

Please help me figure out why

Hi, this is because you can't extend (configure) the extensions for a virtual directory, this is configured at the virtual server level (default web site). After that, you will be able to administer your virtual directory.

Hope this helps. Please let know if this resolve your issue

I was later able to configure server extensions for the virtual directory and also set up v-interdev for the virtual directory . but i'm experiencing a diff problem now, which i'll be explaining in a dif thread
