Hello All
I'm new to this area
i'm trying to config router 1605 (located in the laboratory)
Our LAN's DG is 126.0.0.1 my lab subnet would be 172.16.0.0
i tried to configure the internal interface as 172.16.0.1, and i can ping it from the router
I'd like to put my router between the company DG and a laboratory to provide my local computers with a connectivity to internet and to provide a connectivity from LAN to my subnet
I think it suppose to be simple and may be someone have a template how to do it .

Thanks in advance

g1user,

I would first make sure you clear anything you are doing with your IT department or "network guy" before you just hook up an old router.

The Cisco 1605 - NOTE: This product has reached end-of-sale or end-of-life status; it cannot be ordered and may no longer be supported

It also depends on exactly which 1600 you have and what connections you are working with, it appears this is just a 10baseT Ethernet router - if you have a faster connection you might be better off getting a new router.

You might want to start here - Cisco 1600 Series Software Configuration Guide but configuring a router is not a simple project!

Hope this helps!

Hi CiscoGuy33 ,
Thanks for the link

Long time ago i worked for ISP and i remember we had a templates to copy-paste some basic configuration .
I know it is not easy ,but our sysadmin doesn't know how to do it .

I know it is end of end-of-life status but i need it for testing inside our LAN to test some network appliances and to simulate some functionality .
it is very easy configuation
my"Internet" Ip is 126.0.0.90 with DG 126.0.0.1 (our router internal interface) and the second interface is 172.16.0.1
thats all .
I just need all packets from 172 network to be transferred to 126 and all packets from 126 to use 126.0.0.90 as a DG - when going to 172 network
thats all
no pwds no security firewals etc

Thanks a lot
