I have an IIS server that hosts the company website on the "optional port" from a watchguard firewall.

The Exchange server is working fine and OWA is working internally.

What is the best way to have outside employees access OWA from the internet? Please specify steps to take and any documentation that you might find.

Thanks

If your question is simply how to allow access to OWA from the internet throught the firewall then all you need to do is allow incoming traffic on port 80 to the ip address of the OWA web server on the optional interface. You may want to throw up an SSL authentication page in IIS for the login to provide added security. I assume that you are using some form of NT authentication on OWA.

The most secure method would be to have users connect to the watchguard firebox with either the watchguard VPN client (if you have it) or the windows VPN client. Then all you would have to do is grant remote users full access on port 80 of the optional interface to that ip without opening port 80 up to the whole world.

I hope this helped you out.

Dimo
