hie,

I was using tow different zone for defining these sites. But when i created BNS entries in a single zone, it worked.

I implemented scheme. I don't have public IP address and registered domain name that is why i didn't try technique. I think it won't work without public IP and registered domain name. Am i right?

Also, Host [A] configuration in DNS server doen't allow "." so, i was unable to set Host name to
I used following configuraton:

IN DNS
======
zone name = name of domain
host name = site1
host name = site2

IN IIS
======
ip address : all unasigned (for both sites)
port : 80 ( for both sites)
host header for site1 = site1
host header for site2 = site2

IN Browser
===========

What are the recommendations for zone naming conventions?
Does the zone name should be the name of domain in which DNS server exist?

Anybody able to work this out?

We have 2 internal sites and site2's directory folder is inside site1 (ie. it is not practicle to move the site2 folder due to the size of it.

Host headers, documents, and directory folders are configured appropriatley, site1 uses index.htm, site2 uses default.htm.

When you type all is ok, when you type the frame set for site 1 opens with both frames showing Page cannot be found, however when you enter it works fine.

As previously mentioned, all host headers, documents and home directory folders are as they should be.

I've sorted it, although the sites were set up independatley Site2 was holding 2 different configurations, one set from the website pointing to the directory and one set inherited from the parent directory (site1), by changing the documents listing on the folder within site1 - that site2 points to, to match those for the site2 web site config (did all that make sense!) it works fine.

Somehow it was finding the directory ok and then using the inherited permissions and not what was set as the site permissions
