I recently purchased an HP d145 OfficeJet Multifunction device since it is one of the few units that will handle legal size paper. I also have installed an 802.11b wireless peer-to-peer network and want to include the printer into that network. HP has told me that the ONLY JetDirect device for the d series printers is the 200m which is for connection to a 10/100 wired LAN.

Question: Has anyone successfully added an HP d145 to a wireless network? If so, how was it done. Thank you.

Okay, I copied this from a previous post but I'm in the same situation. Does anyone have an answer

Yes...sort of. I've shared it in my 'home' network, but it's not wireless, but it shouldn't matter. I had to install the 'full' version with a 'direct connected' computer (usb) first. Then after that install was complete, 'share' the printer from the printers folder in the usual Windows way. Then, on the 'other' computer, run the driver install from the specific folder of the install CD--you can't run the 'setup' program because it's not directly connected. You won't be able to do the 'scanning' from the 'networked' pc's, but if you just need to print it works. My cd is at home, so I can't tell you exactly what program I ran. Mine is 'hosted' off an XP box, and 'shared' to my win98 box. Goodluck!
