Hello Folks,
I've been handed a new hat to wear just because I learned to install a phone on our Option 11c. I'm a data guy and now have to support our phone system.
I have been asked to setup a 3904 with 2 DID's and their respective roll-overs along with a regular in house extension.
1795 DID on Key 00, 21795 rollover on key 01
1761 DID on key 02, 21761 rollover on key 03
1329 regular extension on key 05
Questions
1. Can I forward the 2 DID's to another phone if the user at this phone is not avaiable to answer the calls?
2. When the user at this phone is on the line (key 00) and another caller calls on the second DID, key 01 lights up. Should light up key 02?
3. Is the configuration correct below?

If the 2 dids only appear on this set then they will forward to wherever you activate call forward all calls with key 19 (call Fwd) If someone calls the did on key 0 if busy it hunts thru the LHK which you have set to 2. To only allow hunting of each did to its second line, seperate key 1 and 2 with some other feature. ie: the IC on key 6. Then change LHK to 4. This way callers to each of the 2 did numbers only hunt, if busy to their 2nd number.

Thanks roupe
The 2 DID's appear on two other phones. Will this cause a problem?

no because you have them marped on that posted set, just make sure marp is turned on.. with key 19 idle, your fdn will work most of the time, user on either did, lhk will ring the secondary dn one ring, the flash and forward no answer to the fdn... if you want more then one tone on incoming ring with the cls fita

mastang13, for the purposes of the phone system, think of the DID and the internal extension as the same type of object. They are both "DN" types. It is because the DID comes from the outside world and (occasionally) needs to be translated that we refer to them by another name. So, in other words, whatever you apply to programming to that set will apply to all "DN"'s that are "marped" to that set. A DN will need to be anchored to one set via "marp" to know which set of programming to follow, in the event it appears on more than one set.
As johnpoole and roupe suggest, there are rules to hunting that you may need to become familiar with. Do you have access to any of the NTPs (technical manuals) that apply to the system, either hard copy or CD?

Thanks Folks,
Yes I have access to the NTP's, but boy le me tell you this manuals are kind of hard to follow :)

Anyway after making changes to this phone via easy change now when the user attempt's to to tranfer calls, the call gets drop. This is also happening on another phone on the same card.
I heard that easy change may corrupt the system. How tru is this?

no. we do 100's of easy changes a week, that's the only change command we do and have never had a problem.. a bad conf card or port will cause transfer to fail.. not very often the line card.. and corruption will show up in a much larger way .. jmo

There is a problem with echg if your using symposium, otherwise don't worry about it. The transfer problem, make sure that the users are waiting for the call to connect before they release the call by hitting the transfer key the second time. If they hit transfer before the call starts ringing it will drop the call

Thanks again,
I think I have a bad card because after I move these folks to another card the transfer started woking once again.

cheers

Welcome to the world of Nortel, mastang13! Here's a couple for you:

NTP = Nortel Trivial Pursuit
NTP = Not Too Plain
NTP = Not Too Precise

Personally, I sortof like reading them with a drink in hand - they're a sort of science fiction.

There is a problem with echg if your using symposium".. don't do any change on a phone acquired by symposium or any ast.. that's a big problem.. the books are great, it's the words that don't make sense
