Configure Modem

Hi all,

I plan to use the Oracle Enterprise Manager Paging Server for notification, and according to oracle doc I need to configure the paging and modem settings for your system before I set up administrators.

On the documentation it says
"To configure the modem for the system, access the Modems option in the Control Panel. Before using mail, specify the SMTP Gateway for Email with the Configure SMTP Gateway option of the Console System menu."

But on win 2k server contol panel > phone and modem options > modems, where to put SMTP Gateway and I don't see the Console System menu. I have U.S. Robotics 56K FAX INT PnP modem installed for dial up and connected to the internet. Thanks.

I have never used Oracle but based on the instructions. I think you should be setting up the Gateway in the Oracle software not in the modem settings. Good luck.
