Hello folks -

I have 2 sites (main site and branch site)that need to be connected via Cisco 2821 routers. I'll call them Router A and Router B. Each one of these routers has 2 network interfaces; GE 0/0 and GE 1/0.

Our ISP has provided a site-2-site link between the two sites.

Main site A has a network address of 10.0.0.0. Branch site B has a network address of 10.2.2.0. Each one of these sites use a /24 SM.

I have configured router A (at main site) as follows:

1. GE 0/0 - 10.0.0.207
2. GE 1/0 - 172.16.80.1 (/30 mask)
3. Default Gateway - 10.0.0.1 (Cisco PIX at main site)
4. Encapsulation - ARPA (was there by default)
5. Static route to send traffic from 10.0.0.0 network to 10.2.2.0 network

I have configured router B (at branch site) as follows:

1. GE 0/0 - 10.2.2.1
2. GE 1/0 - 172.16.80.2 (/30 mask)
3. Default route that would send all traffic to 172.16.80.1
4. Encapsulation - ARPA (was there by default)

Our ISP has provided a switch at the main site that apparently is part of a VLAN. That switch connects us to the branch site, and also connects us to the Internet.

Based on the information provided above, is there anything else I need to do in order to establish connectivity between the 2 sites? This is my first time configuring Cisco routers and want to be sure that I am doing this right.

Also, should I leave the encapsulation at ARPA?

Thanks for your help.

before anything else, I just feel that the main site ip address range 10.0.0.0 is overlapping with the 10.2.2.0. you could better off with 10.2.1.0 vs 10.2.2.0.
