Hi Everyone,

Probably a very simple answer,k one of those tricks of the trade.

With one of my routers the show running-config has many blanks lines with ! at the beginning.

While this is useful to have the occasional one for readablity there are at times 10 or 15 lines blank.

Is there a simple command to clear these out?

You can copy the config into Notepad and remove the ! marks, and then recopy it back into the router.

Did you load it initially via Hyperterminal? You may want to try a different terminal emulation program. Freeware ones should be available.

No I would never use that program anymore. The config is a main router and quite long and complex and has simply built up over a while.

I could manually delete the lines and recopy but it's a bit of a non-technical approach, and i do not anticipate a reload for many weeks.

I am sure there is a command such as Service ...-...

but cannot find it again.
