Config Management Options for PIX 6.3.5

If I am connected to a running PIX through telnet and issue a clear well my session be disconnected? I am hoping to retain connectivity so i can at a minimum issue an interface/tftp command followed by a configure net command.

Alternatively, is there an application that can proxy changes, including complete re-writes to the PIX and optionally version changes?

I know the "clear xlate" leaves my SSH connection up.
