Config:
Efficient 5851 SDSL [ATM] Router (5851-001) v5.3.80
and
SonicWall SOHO2 Firewall
Just installed a third party solution on an XP Pro machine for AS2 EDI with one of our major trading partners. The PC fails their inbound (to our LAN) firewall test and passes outbound. The destination machine (XP Pro PC) on the LAN has a static, internal IP. The DSL external IP is known, and the trading partner IP is known. All were configured in the 3rd party software during the installation. Have a rule setup on the SOHO2 to allow trading partner IP inbound to LAN PC IP, but am inexperienced on the Efficient 5851 router. Here's a reply I received from another forum:
"You need to do more than just open the firewall. You have to tell the router to port forward the traffic on port xxxx to NAT'd IP 192.168.1.120 or whatever your local LAN IP schema might be."
Is this the Inbound NAT setting on the 5851 DSL router? If so, I have tried porting to both the XP machine and the SOHO2 and no luck. Does the router typically have to be rebooted after applying the setting? Would appreciate any assistance. Thanks.
