I have a customer with a Nortel CICS. They want to be able to set up a conference call and then drop out leaving the other two parties still connected.

After the parties are on the call, you just press the transfer key or the transfer feature.

you want to use feature 3 (confrene/transfer) instead of feature 70 (transfer) since feat 70 will not let you have a three way confrence before you drop, whereas feat 3 lets you establish a 3 way confrence then you can drop out and leave a transfer in plaace.

caution is that you want to make sure that you have supervised trunks from telco or you run a risk of locking your two trunks together even after the two outside parties drop off.

If you have this capability from the carrier, F71 works like a charm.

Once you recieve the call, press Feature 71, make your second call and press F71 again and all 3 are conferenced. This is done on 1 line, not 2 and if you hang up the others keep on talking. Great to simply transfer a call off premis. Simply press F71 after you answer the call, dial the other party's no. and hang up.

Good luck

Yes. telco 3 way calling is great since you don't get that 3db loss on a confrence call.

Thrill your customer. Press f*3, an open button, and f71. Label the button Link. (or off prem trans/conf. Whatever makes sense to them)

Horray! One button functionality.

It seems really simple, but it seems that if customers can do something with one button press, they love the phones. If it takes 3 or more button to push, they hate it.
