Hi,

Appologies if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it searching.

I have a lots of rows in excel where col1 is either "y" or "n" e.g.

y text1 text2 text 3 text 4
n text1 text2 text 3 text 4
y text1 text2 text 3 text 4
y text1 text2 text 3 text 4
n text1 text2 text 3 text 4

how can I use conditional formatting so that the whole row is formatted like so:

[red]y text1 text2 text 3 text 4[/red]
n text1 text2 text 3 text 4
[red]y text1 text2 text 3 text 4
y text1 text2 text 3 text 4[/red]

n text1 text2 text 3 text 4

i.e. how can I format the whole row depending on the value in the first column (the value of this column is restricted to y or n)? (I'm using excel2000)

thanks

Robert Cumming
