Hi all,
i try to backup my remote servers with backup exec ver9.
When backing up remote w2000 AD server, it works fine.
but it could not backup the remote system state.
it gives the error - communication failure a000fe30 hex.
a job without system state goes well.
a job with just the remote system state fails.

Please give me your ideas
Thanks

system state msut be backed up locally. it cannot be backed up remotely.

your best bet would probably be to sue windows backup on the other servers to backup the system state locally to a folder that you currently backup on each server if possible and then use veritas to back up that folder as normal, then if any of those servers fail, you can reinstall them, reinstall the remote agent, and then restore the backed up info to the server in question, and then use the nwo local system state backup file in windows backup to restore the system state

sure, you give a good idea.
Anyhow i want to use the disaster recovery option to restore the crashed machine which needs also the system state backup.
Because there is a possibilty, i want to find the soln.

There was another thread very recently regarding backing up the system state. The solution offered by Dogmata seems to have worked for the user who posted the question, but it hasn't worked for me yet. Going to try his latest suggestions. Check out the thread:
