I'm also thinking about going to computer school so I can start building computers or get a job building or working on computers but I don't have any idea what school I would even go to? I just enjoy computers so much I'd like to do this job wise but also make some money doing it also :)

Hi there,

You can also check for a technical college near you. A lot of them teach computer classes like what your looking for. Thats where I got my degree in computer programming and microcomputers.

Good Luck,

When it comes to computer degrees there are different routes you can take. At the Community college we have degrees and certifications courses that are geared toward passing the A+ certifications for computer repair. There are also non-college certification programs just geared toward passing a certification test with no certificate of proficiency or Associates/Bachelor Degree.

We have degrees in Computer Information System (CIS), Computer Support Specialist, and Computer Hardware Software Technician(CHST).

The Computer Hardware Software Degree covers Math (Calculus), Basic Electronics, electonic Design, Computer Hardware Design, Computer assembly/Repair, and then Telecommunications, and Netwoking, like MS 20003 server, SQL Server, Novel, NT, Etc.

Different Schools approach degrees differently. At some 4 year colleges and universities they may have a degree in Electrical Engineering with a Computer Emphasis or a degree in Computer Science.

In the USA Cisco offers an excellent course in High Schools called Cisco Academy during the last 2 years of High School (11,12). It is really for Network Design and Cisco Routers, but they take computers apart replace NIC Cards set up routers, and troubleshoot networks.
