Hey Everyone, I have 4 computers, exactly the same, and all have been working with win xp. My client wanted to be able to boot to pxe so I recently put in a 3com nic in all the computers and installed all the drivers and utilities, rebooted windows and everything seemed to be ok. I then set the first boot priority in the bios to lan (third being the hard-disk). All the computers then would boot to pxe just fine, but then when it timed-out (meaning going to the next boot priority), it would then show a black screen with a blinking cursor. I then changed the hard-disk as the first boot priority and it showed the same black screen... =(
So anyways, I cant figure out why all the machines now cant boot to windows when all I did was change the first boot priority. Has anyone every encounter this problem before?
Another problem I have been having with the computers is that it seems that they are over-heating. After about 10 minutes, the computer will get really loud, which looks like the fans are spinning at max speed. All for computers are using the new lga p4 and are in a slimline case, but the do have one fan at the top, and we also have had one computer just like them and have never had any load noises come from it...
So if anyone has any suggestions on what could be happening with the black screen or what seems to be overheating, that would be great. Thanx everyone for the help!!!!
