Computer stand by 1

When I go to start and shut down the line that said"stand by" has gone off my computer.. Also when I try to put it on stand by with stand by button it will not go on stand by. Can some one please tell me what to do to get it back?

Go here, search under your operating system and type in standby missing or type standby missing from shutdown menu and then hit go. They have some articles referring to that problem and how to fix it.

You may never get standby to work properly. It's a bug in windows according to Microsoft. But if you unchecked one or both 'loadpowerprofile' lines in msconfig go back and recheck them. Also look through all the other standby articles at Microsoft's knowledge base. They've got a few there that might help. Also check the settings for power management in the control panel.
