Ok...I have researched this a bunch but am still unsure what the problem may be.

Whenever I try to run a big program on the system, it does a reboot. I check the CPU temp in the BIOS immediatly afterwards and it is usually around 38 degress Centigrade.

I have tried using different RAM sticks.

The Power Supply is brand new. 330w Antec.

The motherboard is new. An ECS K7VMM+. My Abit KT7A got fried :-(

I have an Anthlon XP 1800 CPU.

SB Live and ATI Raedon 9000 Pro.

I have the latest drivers for everything, down to the via all in 1 drivers.

I am lost. I try to play a game and it reboots every now and again. it is driving me nuts. :-(

Any thoughts?

First, if this is XP, right-click My Compute, Properties, Advanced, and under the Error Reporting Section uncheck to reboot on errors. You want to see the diagnostic information on the Blue Screen.

You could check the Event Logs to see if an entry was made in any of the logs. right-click My Computer, Manage, and expand the Event Log section.

You could then post the error codes here or Google them.

it is Win 2k and I turned off the auto-reboot

to give everyone a laugh...I wanted to post the resolution to this problem...

The computer rebooted on me again...and it happeend while I was doing nothing...but I realized I had my feet down near where the power cord is.

I looked behind the desk and behold...the plug was not all the way into the wall socket. The thing would jiggle loose and the system would reboot. I put it firmly back in place and have had no problems since.

I am a putz!! :)
