Hi,

I have the Maxtor One TOuch II 250 GB USB and Firewire.

I've had it for a while, and it has worked great with a Firewire connection, however, last week the computer stopped recognizing it. It doesn't show up in "My Computer" or anywhere. I've tried restarting, unplugging and plugging back in, turning off and on, but have had no luck.

Any assistance would be great - I've got lots of important stuff on there!

Thanks!

Obvious question - have you tried the USB connection?

Other obvious question - any other problems with PC?

And - do you have access to another machine you can connect it to?

I don't have any other problems with the PC (other than no more space on the original hard drive) and I don't have a USB wire - should I buy one?

And no I don't have another machine to connect it to.

Thanks for your help

As the drive is not working with your current machine/interface, then either there's a problem with the drive, the machine or the interface. So you need to chack all these options to find out problem.

Also - is the drive sealed in the case, or could you remove it and connect it internally via an IDE cable?
