Computer NIC to Cisco 2514 AUI/10BaseT Tranceiver???

I can't get a link when I plug a PC NIC into the AUI port on the 2514 via the 10BaseT transceiver. I can get a link when I plug a switch into the transceiver.

Why can't I get a link when I plug the PC's NIC into the AUI transceiver??? Am I missing something???
